What will you learn?
The bachelor study programme Electric Power Engineering prepares qualified and creative experts in the field of study Electrical Engineering, focusing on Electric Power Engineering. The study programme will equip students with the knowledge of the rudiments of the science, which is linked to knowledge of the theoretical electrical engineering as well as of technical subjects focused on electric power engineering, electrical machines, lighting technology, electrical materials and electrotechnology, measurement engineering and high-voltage engineering, mechanics, conventional sources of electricity, renewable energy sources, and nuclear facilities.
Moreover, it enables students to acquire knowledge of computer architecture and programming. It develops the abilities to analyse and understand processes running in the electrical engineering, electric power engineering in the acquisition, modification, transformation, transport, accumulation, distribution and consumption of various forms of energy based on the basis of the use of fossil fuels, nuclear fuels, and renewable energy sources.
It also enables students to acquire the related knowledge in terms of environmental aspects of electric power engineering. It links in-depth science expertise and a technical view of the issues in power engineering as a field of study and the area of knowledge as a profession in its broader social context. It will prepare students for Masters' studies of power engineering, electrical engineering or of other related study programmes.
