Sports facilities here belong to the best ones in Slovakia. The Faculty has a big and small gyms, well equipped body-building facility, indoor swimming-pool, sauna, rehabilitation swimming-pool but also a methodical centre with audio-visual technology to watch how to master individual elements or combinations of new rules.
In the first year Physical training is aimed at teaching swimming and basics of playing activities in basketball and volleyball. For students in further years there are 13 sports to choose from. Active sportsmen/women can run for a place in the FEI STU representative teams.
The teachers in the Department of physical training are first league teams trainers and they work for representative teams of Slovakia and also hold important functions in university sports, sports associations and unions.
Sports to choose from: volleyball, basketball, football, handball, swimming, table-tennis, floorball, badminton, aerobic, yoga, condition body-building and fitness, self-defence. For students who like stays in the nature and enjoy hiking, summer camps are organized in Sulov Mountains. Skiing is taught in the form of winter stays in the mountains.
In the academic year 2005-06 the FEI STU is a winner of university leagues in basketball, volleyball and swimming. We won the university league in swimming and volleyball in the last academic year and over the past 6 years our basketball players won the first place five times and once took the second place. Body-building facility Boys can use the body building facility Junák.
Football
Football mini-league is opened every semester with 10-16 participating teams.
Dance courses
Ballroom and Latin-American dance courses are run once a week and last 1,5 hour over ten weeks. They are lead by a professional couple.
Volleyball and netball
You can play them on courts on the grounds of the student hostel. The net can be borrowed from the Student parliament through e-mail: sportova@fei.sk.
Sports activities are organized by sports commission of the Student Parliament. If you are interested you can become its members.
