The studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of STU are performed at 3 levels:
1. bachelor's degree
2. master's degree
3. doctoral degree
1. Bachelor’s degree studies
are focused on the acquirement of theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge based on current state of science and on implementation of this knowledge at work or in further university studies. The standard length of studies for a bachelor’s study programme is 3 years. One of the conditions of the successful completion of the studies is passing a state examination - defence of bachelor thesis. The graduates are conferred the academic title "bakalár" (abbreviation)"Bc." .
A bachelor study programme graduate can continue in the second degree of studies.

2. Master’s degree studies
are focused on the acquirement of theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge based on l current state of science and on the development of a creative implementation of this knowledge at work or in further university studiesin accordance with the doctoral study programme. The standard length of studies is 2 years. One of the conditions of successful completion of the studies is passing a state examination - defence of diploma (master) thesis and passing another state examination in courses (if prescribed by the study plan). The graduates are conferred the academic title "inžinier" (abbreviation "Ing." in).
The graduate of this degree can continue in the third degree of studies.

3. Doctoral degree studies
are focused on the acquirement of knowledge based on the current state of scientific research and mostly on student’s individual contribution to thisresearch , based on individual creative approach to the area of science or technology as well as individual theoretical and creative activity in the area of art. The standard length of internal doctoral studies is 3 years and 4 years in external form. Condition of the successful completion of the studies is passing a dissertation examination and defence of doctoral dissertation. The graduates are conferred the academic title "doktor" ("philosophiae doctor",abbreviation "PhD.").
