Since 1993, the faculty has implemented a new university study system, designed in line with European trends in the development of higher education. It is a three-tier study system, fully compatible with the conclusions of the Bologna Declaration, as well as other relevant international documents.
The mission of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, as one of the oldest technical faculties in Slovakia with a rich scientific and research activity, is primarily to provide quality university education at all levels based on free scientific research and creative research work.
The faculty's mission in the field of undergraduate education is to prepare universally profiled and flexible graduates of bachelor's degree programs with sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, thus university-educated professionals for a wide societal practice.
In the field of education in the second cycle, i.e., in master's and doctoral studies, the task is to provide university preparation for top experts in leadership positions in businesses and institutions and specialists in development and research. This is achieved by involving students in scientific research projects under the guidance of their teachers. Scientific research and development, as the foundation of creativity, are therefore the fundamental pillars of quality pedagogical activities and are cultivated with the utmost attention.
The mission in the field of science and research is to provide an environment for free scientific research and creative research for its teachers, researchers, and students in the interest of utilizing the entire intellectual potential with the maximum multiplicative effect of disseminating research results through educational activities. As a faculty with a technical focus, aware of a certain co-responsibility for the development of the economy in Slovakia, it actively participates in the transfer of scientific results into practice.
